Why choose Chemical Engineering?

Chemical Engineering in Groningen combines a broad range of topics with a strong foundation in Applied Chemistry and a focus on Sustainability. You will become a modern chemical engineer, well-versed in both Product and Process Technology. The programme covers subjects such as the development of sustainable products from biomass, designing catalysts for CO₂ conversion, or building efficient green hydrogen systems.

You can specialise in Advanced Process Technology, Polymeric Products, Bio-based Products and Processes, Industrial Catalysis or Renewable Energy. You’ll apply your knowledge in research projects on catalytic biomass conversion, new polymeric materials or other sustainable technologies.

Graduates work for multinationals like DSM, Nouryon, or Philips, or at smaller innovative companies. Many continue with PhD research in Groningen or abroad.
